Commercial Paving Stone Contractors In Calgary

Simply Stone has completed over 1,000 paving stone projects in the Calgary area for commercial properties, streetscapes, public spaces, and infrastructure developments. We’ve worked with developers, municipalities, and general contractors on projects ranging from small inserts to multi-thousand-square-meter installations.

We install unit pavers by hand and with mechanical laying equipment to meet the demands of large-scale projects. Our scope includes streetscapes, plazas, courtyards, walkways, and vehicle-grade paving applications.

Simply Stone has installed paving stones for high-profile locations across Calgary including BMO Centre, the University of Calgary, Bridgeland Streetscape, Century Gardens, and Spruce Meadows.

BMO Expansion Pavers
Approx. 4,200 sq. meters of Unilock pavers, installed over a 1.5-year period. We installed all the granular bases and unit pavers around the BMO expansion.
Century Gardens Park
Downtown park project, approx. 3,800 sq. meters of Barkman Broadway pavers laid in an exact, per-brick pattern designed by the architect. Supplied and installed all granular bases.
4 Ave Flyover Park
South East Downtown park project, approx. 2,100 sq. meters of Barkman Broadway plank pavers in three different sizes and three different colors.
U of C Courtyard
Located on University of Calgary grounds. Base and jointing material are permeable. Barkman Broadway in charcoal and white.
U of C EEEL Building
On U of C grounds, approx. 3,100 sq. meters of Belgard VS5 pavers in charcoal and white.
17 and 37 Streetscape
Supplied and installed all the unit pavers for the 17 Ave and 37 Street streetscape project. Approx. 2,500 sq. meters of Unilock plank pavers, mostly in small paver inserts over 20–25 blocks.
Bridgeland Streetscape Phases 1 and 2
Supplied and installed all the unit pavers for the Bridgeland redevelopment project phases 1 and 2. Approx. 2,100 sq. meters of Barkman Broadway pavers, mostly in small paver inserts over 15–20 blocks.
Spruce Meadows – Extensive Paver Installation
We have been working for Spruce Meadows for over 15 years, completing projects ranging from repairs to large paving stone installations and retaining walls. Projects include the International Ring, North American Ring, All Canada Place, soccer field, Upper Plaza, new restaurant, and several others.

    Our services include (but are not limited to)

    • Subgrade preparation, compaction, and testing of subgrade.
    • Supply and installation of geotextiles such as bi-axial geogrid, combi-grid, and various geotextiles.
    • Granular base installation including 25 mm and 80 mm road crush.
    • Compaction of bases with appropriate water content to achieve optimum compaction.
    • Compaction testing.
    • Levelling material supply and installation.
    • Installation of unit pavers with desired pattern, colors, and textures.
    • Precision cutting of pavers using various cutting devices including quick-cut saws, water-fed table saws, dustless saws, and occasionally laser cutting.
    • Supply and installation of various types of paver restraints.
    • Supply and installation of jointing material including 3 mm washed sand and different types of polymeric sand.

    We have 29 years of paving stone installation experience, working with all types of concrete pavers and natural stone. We collaborate with clients for budget pricing and address structural requirements related to vehicle and pedestrian loading, as well as drainage considerations.

    We can price installations with full base work or with bases installed by others.

    We understand that some contractors prefer to handle the base installation internally.

    We also understand that large paver projects rarely get installed in a single mobilization. We work with your project schedule to ensure we're available when needed.
